About Alarm Clock

Alarm Clock gives you a lightweight browser alarm without leaving the page. After you set the time, it keeps the remaining countdown visible and can trigger a short sound when the target time arrives.

How To Use It

The tool uses 24-hour time, so 7 PM should be entered as 19:00:00.

  • Enter the alarm hour, minute, and second.
  • Choose the sound type you want when the alarm is triggered.
  • Click Set Alarm to start the countdown and Stop Alarm if you want to cancel it.

Examples

  • Morning reminder
    Alarm Time:
    07:30:00
    Sound: Chime
  • Silent page trigger
    Alarm Time:
    14:00:00
    Sound: Silent

Real-World Usage Scenarios

  • Deep Work Management - Time-Blocking - Professionals use this tool to enforce focus periods. By setting a specific target time rather than a duration, you can align your work sessions with your daily schedule and ensure you transition to meetings on time.
  • Webinar and Meeting Punctuality - Browser Alerts - Avoid missing scheduled calls while immersed in research. Setting a chime alarm in a dedicated tab provides a reliable auditory cue that cuts through your workflow without requiring external hardware.
  • Testing and Deployment Windows - Countdown Tracking - Developers use the live countdown to monitor the exact remaining time before a scheduled server maintenance window or code deployment, ensuring all manual prep work is completed before the trigger.
  • Health and Ergonomic Reminders - Habit Building - Set specific times throughout the workday for hydration or posture checks. The silent mode is particularly useful in open-office environments where you only need a visual status update on your second monitor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the alarm work if I close the browser tab?

No. The script runs locally within your browser. You must keep the tab open for the countdown to continue and for the alarm sound to trigger.

Why does the tool use a 24-hour format instead of AM/PM?

The 24-hour format (ISO 8601 standard) is used to eliminate ambiguity, ensuring the alarm is set accurately for the intended time without confusion between morning and evening hours.

Will the alarm trigger if my computer enters sleep mode?

Most browsers suspend JavaScript execution when a computer sleeps or the lid is closed. To ensure the alarm sounds, adjust your system settings to prevent sleep during the countdown period.

How does the tool handle times that have already passed today?

If the entered time is earlier than the current system time, the tool automatically schedules the alarm for the following day and displays a notification confirming this behavior.
